Why do I need a minimum balance for some retailers

TallyMoney does not offer an overdraft facility and a TallyMoney Account cannot have a negative balance – as you can appreciate it’s impossible to vault a negative bar of gold! When it comes to card payments, there are some merchants that take a partial authorisation amount upfront and the remaining balance at a later point. For these specific merchants (usually related to travel, such as TFL) enough tally is required in your account to cover the maximum possible charge, which is a minimum balance of 300 tally (equivalent of approx. £15) in your account.
